  Note	According to John Albert Lombard, in a phone conversation on 27 Mar 1993, Benjamin Lombard made his fortune in real estate in Illinois. Soldiers from the War of 1812 had been granted land in Illinois, which they didn't want. Eventually homesteaders moved onto the land. Benjamin searched the records and found out who owned the land, contacted them, bought the land for a very low price, kicked off the homesteaders, and then resold the land at a good profit.
