- Will-have copy: vol. 45, p 116 'I Samuel Maynard of the town of Flatbush, county of Kings and state of NY do hereby make publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament hereby revoking any and all other wills before made. I give devise and bequeath unto my executor hereinafter named all my estate real and personal of every kind with full power to sell, convey and dispose of the same as follows: To my wife Abigail K. Maynard such bed and beddings as she may select and the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars out of the proceeds of my estate. my grandson Edgar Kissam in his life time loaned me twelve hundred dollars secured by mortgage on my real estate-now in case the widwo Cecelia Kissam the administrix? of Edgar Kissam's will allow the said mortgage to remain outstanding during my life, receiving the interest in the meantime then to give her five hundred dollars beyond the mortgage in case however she does not allow the mortgage to remain outstanding as aforesaid then the five hundred dollars above mentioned shall go into the residue of my estate. All rest and remainder of my estate I give to my grandson Walter Kissam. I direct that monument be erected on my lot at Greenwood not exceeding in cost of two hundred and fifty dollars. I direct that all my lawful debts, funeral expenses and cost of monument be paid out of the residue of my estate before paying the residue of my estate to the residuary legatie. I nominate and appoint Cyrus P. Smith of Brooklyn Executor and trustee of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand & seal this nineteenth day of December A.D. 1868.' etc.
